Let’s team up!

In today’s rapidly changing society, a lot is asked of organizations and creators in theater, film, music, and museums.

Curious Culture looks with curiosity at the opportunities this digital age offers. We help professionals embrace new technology and innovative working methods in a way that fits their practice and values.

With the right tools and strategies, you can create more space for growth and artistic freedom.

Evaluation (collaboration session)

During a project, the phrase ‘let’s leave it for now, we’ll address it during the evaluation’ is often heard, only for the evaluation to turn into a session of frustration. Relatable? Or you see different departments, like marketing, programming, exhibitions, and education, working in silos instead of collaborating.

Curious Culture breaks these patterns with innovative organizational techniques such as Liberating Structures. This turns an evaluation into not just a look back, but an opportunity to clarify ambitions, gather constructive and diverse input, and move forward as a team with a shared vision.

This session can be booked both after a festival, project, or collaboration, and while the work is still ongoing.

Evaluation (collaboration session)

Can you relate to this? During a project, you often hear, “Let’s leave it for now, we’ll address it during the evaluation,” only to end up with frustration during the evaluation itself. Or, you might see different departments—such as marketing, programming, exhibitions, and education—working in silos rather than collaborating.

By using the latest organizational techniques for innovation, such as Liberating Structures, Curious Culture breaks this impasse. The result? An evaluation where input can be provided from multiple perspectives, ambitions are made visible, and the team looks toward the future with a shared vision.

This session can be booked both after the completion of a festival, project, or collaboration, as well as during, while the work is still ongoing.

Roadmap (overview session)

Are you at the beginning of a new grant period? In the middle of a project, developing a season program, concert series, or exhibition, and finding yourself with more work than time?

Is there grumbling in the team because no one knows exactly what needs to be done, when, or why? Or are you a creator who can’t see the forest for the trees because of looming deadlines?

Create clarity and insight into your process with a roadmap session.

This session is suitable for all types of projects, collaborations, and creative processes.

Developing (or refining) your business model

A new business model, the holy grail for innovative organizations! Or does it bring confusion and frustration instead? Perhaps a complete transformation isn’t necessary, but rather a targeted update to your existing model. Before you can make this choice, a few steps may be missing.

Or are you a creator who wants to combine artistic and commercial work? Curious Culture has developed a model that helps address this challenge.

In this session, we analyze your current situation and ask the right questions: What’s working well? Where are things getting stuck? And which opportunities remain untapped? This way, you’ll gain a clear view of the next steps.

Developing (or refining) your business model

A new business model, the holy grail for innovative organizations! Or does it bring confusion and frustration instead? Yet another thing we need to think about! Are you at this point? Then there may still be a few steps missing before it’s possible to make choices toward this new business model, or to decide that the existing one is perfectly fine but just needs an update.

Or are you a creator who wants to combine both artistic and commercial work? Curious Culture has developed a model that provides insight into this challenge.

During a business model session, we always look at the current situation and ask the questions: what went well in this model? Where does it get stuck, and which opportunities are still being overlooked?

Creating value from (audience) data

The results of an audience survey are in—but what now? Naturally, you want to extract concrete learnings and action points. Or perhaps you’re looking for a way to collaborate with different departments or organizations using audience data.

Curious Culture has developed methodologies that make data manageable for cultural institutions, without losing sight of artistic freedom. Whether you’re a marketer, educator, or artistic director, audience data provides value for everyone.

Curious Culture does not conduct research itself but helps organizations turn insights into action. For those who also want to take a strategic look at the design of the research, a collaboration with Kim van den Brink of Ask Your Audience is possible.

At the end of this process, there will be shared insights into the (target) audience, a unified vision of impact and success, and a methodology for guiding future actions.

CRM or project planning software implementation

Is your organization at the beginning of a software implementation? Or is there already a system in use, but it feels more like an obstacle than an asset for your work?

Curious Culture helps cultural organizations effectively utilize software, with attention to both the technology and the people who use it. With years of experience in implementation processes and the cultural sector, we ensure a clear path, involving all stakeholders and making the transformation within the team smooth.

Often, the solution starts offline: what processes are running within the organization? Where can technology truly support? In this process, we look for the best solution within the budget’s possibilities—so that software becomes a tool, not a stumbling block.

Designing innovative workflows

Is it possible to structure innovation? Absolutely! In fact, it’s essential for an organization undergoing change.

Curious Culture has adapted the widely-used ‘sprint’ methodology to the practice of theaters, museums, companies, orchestras, and other cultural organizations.

During this process, we go through a sprint cycle together (planning, check-in, and retrospective), while simultaneously training someone internally to continue these sessions independently.

This process lasts between 4 to 6 weeks and provides the team with the opportunity to focus and collaborate around shared goals.
